My artistic journey began in the late 1990s with ASCII and ANSI art on the Amiga. Working within the constraints of characters and colours shaped my eye for form, structure and composition. Today my work spans mechanical typewriter drawing, printmaking, painting and analogue photography. Although the media have changed, the underlying question remains the same: how do material, tools and process shape the image?
Regardless of the medium, I am interested in how material, tools and process shape both the creation and the perception of an image. Whether working with a mechanical typewriter, printmaking, oil paint or analogue film, I am drawn to processes that preserve the visible traces of their making. Their limitations are not obstacles but essential parts of the creative process. Outside my artistic practice, I work as an IT trainer and consultant, but my artistic practice has accompanied me for more than three decades.
